—Laura Ingalls Wilder
Sometimes I try to remember the way my boys used to peek over the edge of the crib at the end of nap time, or the way they would smear their food around their high chair trays giggling at each other. But I didn't always photograph those moments... hands were full, no camera near by, too tired, too frazzled, I'll get it next time, etc etc. And before I knew it they were another year older, and then another year.
But as my boys continue to grow a mile each time I blink, I've realized it's really those quiet, silly, crazy, often imperfect moments that I want to hold onto, and that deserved to be photographed because they are all immensely beautiful in their own right. Forehead kisses goodnight, tight squeezes after scraped knees and closeups of sticky, messy hands holding a pb&j.
So perhaps I can help capture your story even for just an hour or two to help you hang on to those sticky fingers just a little longer.
Your health and safety is top priority for me! During your in home session, I will maintain a safe social distance with a mask on. In all honestly keeping some distance from you helps me to allow you to interact as you would without me interfering with the beautiful moments happening at any given time anyway! If you have any specific needs or concerns regarding Covid-19 and your shoot- please reach out!
Looking for more coverage than just an hour and a half? Please reach out to me directly about full day in the life sessions which can be customized to your family to capture your story in more depth. Spending the day together really allows me to get to know your family, for you all to become comfortable with the camera and then ignore it, and for me to find the uniqueness in who you are together.
Most documentary sessions are done in the comfort of your own home, as you tend to be most as ease where you live and play. In your home you may be baking cookies together, getting dinner ready, just doing your daily routine. Playing in the backyard, cuddling on the couch, going through the bedtime routine, etc - but most importantly, none of it us staged by me. However if you aren't wanting to capture life at home, we might head to a relatives house, your child's sports game or dance class, the ice cream shop or grocery store, etc.
I support clients of all gender identities, ethnicities, races, and sexual orientations. I adore documenting the wide array of personalities and people that come before my lens and welcome diversity in all its forms.
